Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
BeyondTheBooks (beyondthebooks.site) is a personal, single-operator application that turns public-domain and licensed books into narrated summary videos and publishes them to YouTube. It is not a public service and does not have end users other than its operator.
What data this application accesses
The operator connects their own YouTube channel(s) to this application via Google OAuth. Once connected, the application may, on the operator's explicit action:
- Upload videos to the connected YouTube channel
- Set or update a video's title, description, and thumbnail
- Read channel and video statistics (views, likes, comments, subscriber counts)
- Read and update basic channel branding information (description, keywords)
No data is shared with, sold to, or accessed by any third party. Only the operator who connected a given channel can trigger actions on it.
YouTube API Services
This application uses YouTube API Services. By using this application, the operator agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. For information on how Google collects and processes data, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Data retention and revocation
OAuth credentials are stored only for as long as a channel remains connected. The operator can disconnect a channel at any time from the application's settings, or revoke access directly at Google Account permissions, which immediately invalidates the stored credentials.
